Exasol Personal Local lets you run the Exasol analytics database locally on macOS. Your data stays on your machine, so you can evaluate the database without setting up a cloud environment.
Linux and Windows local installation are on the roadmap.
During the live demo, you’ll see how to install Exasol Personal Local in one command, load a dataset, run analytical SQL queries, and connect a business intelligence or notebook tool.

FAQ:
- Are there any plans for OSX on x86 ?
Since macOS Tahoe (version 26 released in September 2025) is the last release to support x86-64 Intel chips we will not be adding support for this.
- How much space do I need on my local machine to set this up?
The launcher itself is around 80 MB. For storage, you want as much as your use case requires. At least 8 GB of RAM are required. As Exasol is an in-memory-database, it will perform better the more RAM you have available.
- We have only web Microsoft Copilot als secure environment. Is it possible to connect Exasol Personal to it?
The Starter Kit connects assistants through an MCP server launched locally against a database on 127.0.0.1, which a browser-based assistant has no route to; GitHub Copilot in VS Code on the same machine is supported today and is set up with exakit mcp-setup.
