Hi there,
we want to migrate data from an 6.0.8 version to a 7.0.6 via restoring a backup. But when restoring it from a external volume I get a coredump and the error in pdd log: Version mismatch. Expected 2, but got 69.
Question: Do I have to migrate the backup file through intermediate temporary export import steps via 6.0.8 -> 6.1. -> 6.2 -> 7.0.8?
Isn't there any more elegant way?
Cheers

Hi @kochjoe ,
BackUp/Restore is ( as far as I´ve been told ) only supported in the same major ( first digit ) version, even though way back when the BackUp-old -> Restore-new methodology was at least technically possible.
The official way is as you describe, I believe.
You could build a secondary ( cloud based ? ) instance, use the exa-migration and/or copy_ddl scripts to migrate from old exa to new exa and then take a 7.0.x backup to restore on the actual new system....not very elegant...more like...creative....
Just my two cents 😉
Cheers,
