Community Edition and VPN

I've installed the Community Edition in Oracle VirtualBox and the Host Only adapter is configured as suggested in Exademy.

However I can't connect to neither the DB nor the Administration frontend.

I guess this might be because of the company VPN that I need during Homeoffice.

Is there any way to work around this?

Hi @xyz

Should we pick up this topic again or how did you manage to solve it?

Best regards,

Didn't manage to solve it but since we are back to office it doesn't matter for now

Thank you for getting back to us. Let us know when this is relevant again.

Seeing colleagues in person, that have to be crazy.😅

Jokes aside, I wish you all the best in the office!

Have you tried Network bridge configuration for the VM? This also works for me (on a Mac).

I haven't tried that yet. Could you maybe summarize how to do this?

You can just change the Network adapter in your VirtualBox image properties to "Network bridge". It should then automatically select your LAN card or WiFi.

A VPN shouldn't have any impact on the host only network. What's the ip address shown in the vm? Can you ping that address?

The IP is 192.168.56.101, but a ping doesn't get through to it.
